个人简介
Dr. Katya Stepanova brings clinical skill, leadership and fresh perspectives to Virginia Treatment Center for Children at a critical point in pediatric mental health care.
The VTCC team continues to expand, with a goal of improving access to essential services for young people throughout Virginia. Understanding that fostering social and emotional health involves the whole family, Dr. Stepanova’s vision also includes opportunities for parental education and support on the horizon.
Dr. Stepanova combines her clinical expertise with enthusiastic education and training for medical students, psychiatry residents and child and adolescent psychiatry fellows to shape and ensure availability of mental health care for kids in the years ahead. Her forward-thinking ideas for transforming teaching approaches to address the shortage of child and adolescent psychiatrists have been published in the Journal of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
Clinical Interests
Developing and testing evidence-based treatment options for bipolar disorder and other serious mental illnesses with a focus on impulsive aggression
