Eileen Tisdall

My research career is centred around the application of a range of palaeoenvironmental research methods. My research career has been to develop methodological approaches and techniques that generate palaeoenvironmental data sets tied to human activity in a landscape, at the spatial and temporal scale (human generation) that can be used to determine peoples’ responses to and drivers of environmental change. The depth, breath and reach of my research provides unique perspectives on long-term ecological and environmental responses to climate change and advances our understanding of human and environmental resilience to extreme events. I am an international expert in palaeoenvironmental research methods and recognised for my inter and trans-disciplinary research. I have extensive fieldwork experience working mainly in lakes and peat bogs in Scotland, Iceland and Chile.
