Dr Ehsan Sharifi

Ehsan is an advocate for applied architectural sciences in placemaking practice. He joined the School of Architecture and Built Environment after completing three post-doc positions at UniSA (Cooling Capacity of Green Infrastructures; School of ITMS), UNSW (Urban Cooling Guidelines; School of Built Environment) and the University of Adelaide (Urban Wind Engineering and Comfort; School of Mechanical Engineering). Ehsan’s research interests include:
• Urban microclimates and the urban heat island effect
• Quality of public space and public life
• Outdoor thermal-wind comfort
• Cultural and historical responses to thermal discomfort
• Low carbon urban living, urban greening and climate change adaptation
