Biography
Ed is a native of Syracuse, NY. He attended the University of Albany where he majored in Physics and Russian. After his undergraduate education, he was commissioned in the United States Marine Corps. After ten years of service Ed attended the Albert Einstein College of Medicine where he earned his MD and PhD degrees under the supervision of Steven D. Schwartz PhD and in collaboration with the laboratory of Jil Tardiff MD-Phd. He attended residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Ed completed a clinical and research fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine here at Yale in the Section of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine. He is proud to remain at Yale as a new faculty member working alongside those who trained him. He is currently an attending physician in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the West Haven VA and Yale-New Haven Hospital. His current research focuses on the remodeling of the pulmonary vasculature in response to aging and chronic hypoxia.
