Bachelor in Marine Biology and M.Sc in Zoology by Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (IB and Museu Nacional UFRJ, respectively), and Ph.D. in Geosciences by Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF). Has experience in zoology, with emphasis on taxonomy, distribution, development, collection methods, and behavior of decapod crustaceans, especially planktonic larvae, settlers, and juveniles. It also carries out or supports studies on environmental contamination, using crustaceans as bioindicators.
