Najera Aguilar Edinson

Dr. Edinson Najera is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon specializing in endovascular neurosurgery and endoscopic and open skull base surgery. He is devoted to using minimally invasive techniques to restore the harmony and beauty of the brain. He has substantial experience treating patients with both rare and common pathologies using open and endovascular approaches. Dr. Najera completed an Endovascular Neurosurgery Fellowship at Albany Medical Center in New York in June 2023. Dr. Najera completed a neurosurgery residency at Donostia University Hospital in Spain, where he worked for three years as an attending neurosurgeon focused on cranial base surgery and neuro-oncology. In 2017, he completed a research fellowship in microneurosurgical and endoscopic anatomy at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine under Dr. Fernandez-Miranda. During this fellowship, Dr. Najera’s research focused on improving the understanding of neuroanatomy in order to advance surgical techniques and facilitate access to complex lesions while minimizing patient impact. Following the fellowship, Dr. Najera continued his clinical training in skull base and complex microsurgery at Cleveland Clinic in Florida before moving to Albany Medical Center.
