Differential gene expression analysis is a common starting point for many gene expression studies aimed at comparing groups of samples within a cohort. However, this only reveals differences at the single gene level. I am working on a novel network-based tool able to detect differential gene-gene interactions giving much greater understanding of the details of functional mechanisms active in a tissue and being able to classify group of patients.
