Professor Mitsoulis has published over 453 scientific and technical papers in the areas of rheology, polymer and materials processing, and computational fluid mechanics and heat transfer. He has also published 11 chapters in books, including chapters in the Encyclopedia of Fluid Mechanics. His citation record is around 3570 with an h-factor of 34 (scholar.google.gr). Professor Mitsoulis is an active participant in International Conferences, Workshops and Seminars.

Professor Mitsoulis is the Director of the Computer-Aided Materials Processing - Rheology and Design (CAMP - R&D) research group and lab funded originally in Canada by NSERC and the Ontario Centre for Materials Research (OCMR), a provincial centre of excellence, in which he was a project leader. At NTUA funding is provided from University, National, and European research projects.
