He is currently an Associate Professor at FAT-UERJ (Faculty of Technology of Resende-RJ - University of the State of Rio de Janeiro) where he coordinates a Technological Development Unit focused on performing services of characterization and development of processes and new products, in addition to having participated from the group that created the mechanical engineering course at FAT-UERJ, and a professional master's degree in Materials from UniFOA. Research group leader CNPq ("Development and characterization of materials") at FAT-UERJ. He has experience in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, with emphasis on Development and characterization of ceramic materials, metals and alloys, working mainly on the following topics: bioceramics and bioglasses, Al2O3, ZrO2, Si3N4, ceramic composites, mechanical properties and materials microstructure. ceramic. He has mentored dozens of master's and doctoral students and supervised postdoctoral work. Currently, he advises students of Scientific Initiation, Technological Initiation, Master's, Doctorate and course conclusion works. He has eight patent filings and two definitive registrations. He acts as a reviewer for several reputable indexed scientific journals and has ongoing research projects with funding from CNPq and FAPERJ. Researcher in Materials Engineering, working on the development and characterization of ceramic, metallic and composite materials. Graduated in Metallurgical Engineering from Universidade Federal Fluminense (1997), he obtained a master's degree in Materials Engineering from the Faculdade de Engenharia Química de Lorena (2001), where he also obtained a doctorate in Materials Engineering, in conjunction with the CTA/ IAE-AMR (Centro Técnico Aeroespacial), in 2004. In 2009 and 2021, he completed a post-doctorate at University of São Paulo - Brazil and University of Aveiro (Portugal), respectively.
