Susana M. Olhero

Susana Olhero (SO) is nowadays a Principal Researcher in CICECO (Aveiro Institute of Materials)/UA (University of Aveiro) and member of the Executive Board of Department of Materials Engineering and Ceramics (DEMaC)/CICECO/UA. SO has a Doctorate degree in the field of Material Science and Engineering from University of Aveiro (2006). From 2006-2014 was a pos-doc researcher at University of Porto and University of Birmingham, in strong collaboration with University of Aveiro. From 2015-2018, SO was Assistant Researcher at CICECO/UA (FCT position (IF/00951/2014). The focus of her research has been the development of 3D structures by near net shaping colloidal-based techniques, including additive manufacturing of various functional ceramics for several applications, including biomaterials for bone regeneration. Susana Olhero is author of 80 publications in peer review international journals (Scopus source), 2 book chapters and 3 national patents, with over 2050 citations, h-index 27. Susana Olhero supervised/Co-supervised 7 PhD (2 finished and 5 ongoing), 12 Master Thesis and several research fellows (Pos-doc and PhD) from her Projects. In what concerns projects, she is currently member of the coordination team of a H2020 project (INterlynk-grant agreement nº953169, had 5 self-proposed financed projects under her responsibility as PI (1 EU/FP7, 3 financed by FCT and 1 co-promotion P2020) and 3 more as Co-PI in collaboration with other research units in UA or other National/International Institutions. She is also involved in national co-promotion projects as team member and other collaborative works with local companies in order to develop innovative ideas to make national SMEs more competitive at National and International levels.
