- Experience in supporting in emergency situation, this is the case of genomic surveillance of SARS-CoV-2, by undertaking Bioinformatics analyses of genomic sequencing, produce a timely report for an informed decision making process
- Experience teaching Biological Sciences subjects that include Molecular Biology, Molecular Genetics, Plant Genetic Engineering, Biotechnology and Bioinformatics,
- Experience in research especially in the field of Bioinformatics: NGS raw sequence analysis including RNA Seq, genome assembly and variant calling, Biomolecule sequence analysis, Protein 3D structure prediction, Protein-Protein and, Protein-Ligand interaction prediction, Molecular docking and Molecular Dynamics Simulation
- Supervising PhD students for various research projects
- Training background includes a PhD in Biotechnology “insilico studies on protein therapeutic agents”, a Masters in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Bachelors of Science in Biology-Chemistry with Education
- Principal investigator (PI) of the project entitled: Development of on-site rapid diagnostic test for early detection of Covid-19 based on CRISPR-Cas and Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy, funded by the National Commission for Science and Technology (NCST)
- Member of the Rwanda National task team as Bioinformatician, for SARS-CoV-2 sequence analysis using Bioinformatics tools. The main task being to analyze SARS-CoV-2 raw genomic sequence data, for variant identification
