Derek Brown currently works at the Scottish Microbiology Reference Laboratories. Derek has an interest in the application of sequencing technologies and bioinformatics for surveillance of pathogen epidemiology and the spread of antimicrobial resistance genes. He has also had a long term interest in Salmonella host specificity and is interested in how new methods can be used to shed new light on this issue.
