Dennis Tolsma

High School physics teacher. Peace Corps Volunteer (Thailand). 30-year career in public health with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (public health advisor; manager; Senior Executive Service (SES) appointee as Director of Center for Health Promotion; and Associate Director, CDC. One of first six SES recipients of DHHS sabbatical award. (Retired) 20 years as employee and consultant at Kaiser Permanente of Georgia--roles included Director of Prevention, subsequently founding Director of Research Center. Research interests are health behavior choice (smoking, exercise, health care utilization); research ethics; and air quality health effects. (Retired) IRB Member 27 years including 5 years as Chair.
