De-Kuang Hwang

Dr. Hwang was born in Taipei, Taiwan. He clinically specializes in uveitis and retinal diseases and is currently an attending staff in department of ophthalmology of the Taipei Veterans General Hospital (TVGH), he is also the associate professor in the National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. Dr. Hwang finished his residency and clinical fellowship in the TVGH. He has visited the Kyorin University Hospital, the University of Tokyo Hospital, and the Francs I. Proctor Foundation of the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) as an international postdoctoral scholar and clinical observer. Dr. Hwang is a doctor of philosophy in Public Health and Epidemiology. He has published many peer reviewed articles. He is the uveitis sectional editor of the Taiwan Journal of Ophthalmology and has served as the scientific reviewer for more than 20 international journals. His research topics focus on uveitis, retinal diseases, ophthalmic epidemiology, big-data analysis, and artificial intelligence.
