David E. Womble

David E. Womble Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Oak Ridge, TN 37831 USA (womblede@ornl.gov). Dr. Womble received a B.S. degree in mathematics and computer science from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Terre Haute, IN, USA, in 1982, M.S. degrees in applied mathematics and electrical engineering, and a Ph.D. degree in applied mathematics from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, USA, in 1986. He worked with Sandia National Laboratories from 1987 to 2017 in the areas of high-performance computing, computational science, and engineering simulation. He is currently the Director of Artificial Intelligence Programs with Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He is a member of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics and the Association for Computing Machinery.
