Dr. Mullins studies tumor immunology. As a postdoc, he discovered that route of vaccination with dendritic cells leads to tissue-specific CD8-mediated protective immunity to tumors. As an independent PI at UVa, Dr. Mullins’ lab showed that expression of CXCR3 by tumor-specific CD8+ T cells correlates with enhanced survival, establishing the importance of lymphocyte homing for immunologic control of melanoma. In 2011, Dr. Mullins relocated to The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth.
