David Ramírez

David Ramírez (Senior Member, IEEE) received the Telecommunication Engineer degree and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Universidad de Cantabria, Santander, Spain, in 2006 and 2011, respectively. From 2006 to 2011, he was with the Department of Communications Engineering, University of Cantabria. In 2011, he joined as a Research Associate the University of Paderborn, Paderborn, Germany, and later on, he became an Assistant Professor (Akademischer Rat). He is currently an Associate Professor with the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Getafe, Spain. He has been a Visiting Researcher with the University of Newcastle, Callaghan, NSW, Australia, and with the University College London, London, U.K. His current research interests include signal processing for wireless communications, statistical signal processing, change-point management, and signal processing over graphs. Dr. Ramírez has been involved in several national and international research projects in his research topics. He was the recipient of the 2012 IEEE Signal Processing Society Young Author Best Paper Award and 2013 Extraordinary Ph.D. Award of the University of Cantabria. He was also an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing and was the Publications Chair of the 2018 IEEE Workshop on Statistical Signal Processing. He is a member of the IEEE Technical Committee on Signal Processing Theory and Methods and EURASIP Technical Area Committee on Theoretical and Methodological Trends in Signal Processing.
