David Ryan Koes University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA 15260 USA (dkoes@pitt.edu). Dr. Koes received his Ph.D. degree in computer science from Carnegie Mellon University in 2009. After earning the Ph.D. degree, he joined the Department of Computational and Systems Biology, School of Medicine, University of Pittsburgh, where he is currently an Assistant Professor. His research is to develop new, more effective methods for computational drug discovery, with a focus on machine learning techniques, while simultaneously applying these methods to develop new therapeutics.
