David M. Bossens

David M. Bossens received the B.Sc. and first M.Sc. degrees in psychology with theory and research option from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Leuven, Belgium, in 2012 and 2014, respectively, the second M.Sc. degree in artificial intelligence with engineering and computer science option from KULeuven, Leuven, in 2015, and the Ph.D. degree in artificial intelligence from Maritime Engineering Group, University of Southampton, Southampton, U.K., in 2020, focused on meta-learning and lifelong learning approaches to allow reinforcement learning in long-term environments with changing tasks and limited reinforcement feedback. Since 2020, he has been a Research Fellow with the Agents, Interaction and Complexity Research Group, University of Southampton. From 2019 to 2021, he worked on the development of resilient robot swarms via quality-diversity algorithms and online adaptation. Since 2021, his work has studied a variety of machine learning methods for improving safety, resilience, and communication within robotic systems and AI at large, as part of the multi-institute TAS Hub project.
