Daria Martynova

My research interests cover a wide range of marine and coastal ecology in the Polar and sub-Polar regions, from studying the peculiarities of pelagic trophic web, matter flux throught the ecosystem, and benthic-pelagic coupling to the conservation issues, all these topics take into consideration recent changes under anthropogenic pressure. Currently, I'm interested in searching for the reasons of the shifts in the zooplankton phenology in the White Sea, describing the transport of the heavy metals through the marine ecosystem, and assessing the microplastic pollution in the seas of the Russian Sector of the Arctic Ocean. I also participate in conservation projects supported by IUCN and UNDP and targeted on the sustainability of the Arctic seas. I'm open for any collaboration.
