Danilo Marandola

Graduated in Agricultural Sciences - PhD in Environment&Territory. Currently researcher at the Research Center for Agricultural Policies and Bioeconomy of Italy's Council for Agricultural Research and Economics (CREA-PB). Expert on agri-environmental-climate policies, with particular reference to EU Rural development policies (RDP) funded in the frame of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). Key expertise on: i) sustainable use of soil, pesticides and nutrients in agriculture; ii) conservation and enhancement of biodiversity and landscapes of interest for agriculture; iii) design and effective implementation of support schemes for farmers aiming at promoting sustainable farming practices. Main tasks at CREA-PB: i) Member of the Working group in charge to support Italy's Ministry of Agricultural policies in the design of the 2023-2027 CAP Strategic Plan on issues related to the green architecture of measures; ii) Coordinator of the Action 5.1 “Support to public authorities for the effective implementation of RDP agri-env-climate measures" in the frame of the 2014-2020 Italy's National Rural Network Programme (NRN); iii) Member of the Scientific Committee of Italy's National Action Plan National on Sustainable Use of Plant Protection Products; iv) Member of the Scientific Committee of Italy's National Plan on biodiversity and genetic resources for agriculture; v) Member of the Inter-Ministerial direction cabinet on nitrates management; vi) Expert of the Biodiversity group of Inter-Ministerial Committee on the Ecological Transition led by Italy Presidency of the Council of Ministers. Since 2001, contracted Professor in the Bachelor and Specialization degree programmes of the Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment of the University of Molise in charge of the courses of: i) Farm business management and economics, ii) CAP principles; iii) CAP Lab; Rural Appraisal. Membership in Professional Societies: i) Association of Agronomists and Foresters (ODAF); ii) Italian Society of Soil Sciences (SISS), iii) Italian Society of Agricultural Economics (SIDEA).
