Daniele Melati

Daniele Melati received the Ph.D. degree in information engineering from Politecnico di Milano in 2014, working on device modeling for generic photonic foundries and distributed effects of waveguide roughness on guided light propagation. He is a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Centre de Nanosciences et de Nanotechnologies--C2N, a joint research unit of CNRS and Universit Paris-Saclay, France. From 2017 to 2020, he has been a Research Associate with the National Research Council Canada. His research interests include related to novel applications of inverse design, optimization, stochastic techniques, and machine learning algorithms to efficiently design complex photonic devices. His research topics include also subwavelength metamaterials, ultra-compact integrated photonic antennas, and optical phased arrays.
