个人简介
Daniel Grünbaum is a biological oceanographer who studies how even the smallest organisms can have significant implications for large systems. More specifically, he looks at how short-term, small-scale processes, like the behaviors of individual fish or planktonic larvae, can scale up to have long-term, large-scale changes in a population’s size or distribution. An engineer by training, Grünbaum works to establish quantitative relationships between these phenomena. Additionally, he is committed to addressing critical gaps in quantitative learning in secondary education. For his efforts to better link the university community with students and teachers throughout the state of Washington, he was awarded a Washington State LASER Award.
