My career has been focused on therapeutic approaches to diseases of cognitive impairment. Initial areas included Alzehimer's disease (amyloid aggregation inhibitors) & stroke (N-type Ca channel modulators). Later I was involved in psychotherapeutic areas: anxiolytics & hypnotics (GABA-A modulators), nicotine addiction treatments (nAChR modulators) and cognitive enhancers (a4b2 and a7 nAChR agonists; GABAA agonists). Currently interested in anti-inflammatory approaches to cognitive enhancement.
