D. Scott Merrell

My laboratory is interested in host/pathogen interactions. The majority of our work focuses on developing a greater understanding of the genes required for Helicobacter pylori to survive in the stomach. We also recently initiated several metagenomic projects that focus on Staphylococcus aureus and a rare intraperitoneal tumor called pseudomyxoma peritonei. Finally, our newest work includes studies focused on copper resistance in Acinetobacter baumannii.
