Cristin G. Welle

Cristin G. Welle received the B.S. degree from the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, VA, USA, in 2004, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, USA, in 2010. She joined the Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH), Office of Science and Engineering Labs, U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Silver Spring, MD, USA, as an ORISE Research Fellow in 2010. She became a Staff Scientist in 2011, leading the Neural Interfaces Laboratory. Her research interests center on using small animal models to explore long-term safety and performance of medical devices that interface with the nervous system. Dr. Welle's lab received the CDRH Director's Special Citation Award in 2015. She is a member of the Society for Neuroscience.
