Cristian Bergmann

I am currently a Post-Doctoral Associate in the department of neurobiology at the University of Pittsburgh. I am investigating axon biology and the role of microbiota derived molecules in neurodegenerative diseases, such as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). My goal is to Identify the molecular mechanisms triggered by this microbiota derived molecules in neuronal cells and drosophila models, and to utilize these mechanisms as a therapeutically target to alleviate, revert, or attenuate ALS.
