I am currently with Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Technical Applications Specialist. My role includes supporting legacy Molecular Probes products, our portfolio of Drug Discovery Products, and the KaryoStat+ service. I have a PhD in Biochemistry along with 30 years of experience as an academic researcher. In my previous role I was an Assistant Staff Scientist at OHSU. I purified protein complexes from the inner ear using immuno-affinity techniques and protein identification using LC-MS/MS. I frequently used Western blotting, cloning using molecular biology, protein purification using AKTA, microdissection of inner ears from mouse/ rat/ chick/ frog, mammalian cell culture, confocal microscopy, bacterial culture & protein production. Additionally, storage, expansion, purification, chemical modification, and generation of novel monoclonal antibodies. My graduate studies at UCL focused on phospholipids, phospholipid transfer proteins, and phospholipases.
