Claudia Heilmann

Claudia Heilmann was born in 1966. She received the Dr.med. degree in Leipzig, Germany and received the board certification in ophthalmology in 1996 in Magdeburg, Germany. In 1999, she finished the postgraduate studies with a certificate in molecular biology at the University Hamburg, Hamburg, Germany. She is currently the Head of the Research Section, Department of Cardiovascular Surgery, University Heart Center, Freiburg—Bad Krozingen, Germany. Her research interests include interdisciplinary projects, which include various fields of medicine, biology, and engineering, with particular interest in cardiac-assist devices.
