C. Estournel

Claude Estournel is an oceanographer. She mainly uses numerical modelling at the regional and coastal scales. Part of her work focuses on the circulation and formation of water masses in the Mediterranean through convection and dense shelf water cascading, and on the cross-slope exchanges induced by storms. The modelling of sediment transport associated with storms is also one of her fields of study. Finally, she works in collaboration with biogeochemists on the coupling between physics, biogeochemical cycles and marine ecosystems.
