The group working on eye health is known externally as the International Centre for Eye Health.] In addition to undertaking reasearch and education activities, Clare is a techical advisor to several organizations including the World Health Organization, the Vision Impact Institute, iHOPE Wellcome Tust, India and USAID's Child Blindness Program. Between 2013 and 2019 was a Scientific Program Advisor to The Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust's avoidable blindness programme. Clare co-directed the eye group between 2006 and 2019.
