个人简介
In terms of my educational background, I held a degree in Biotechnology from Miguel Hernández University (Elche, Spain) (2011-2015), and during 2016, I obtained a Master´s degree in Biotechnology and Bioengineering at the same University.
I have a year of experience working in a company dedicated to Genetic testing, where I worked in the Molecular Biology area diagnosing recessive hereditary diseases, among others. On September, 2017, I started my PhD thesis at Institute for Bioengineering and Biosciences / Instituto Superior Técnico (Lisbon, Portugal) under the joint supervision of Prof. Ana Coutinho, Dr. Lourdes Renart and Prof. Manuel Prieto. The main goal of my thesis, entitled "Probing the structural plasticity in the potassium channel KcsA using homo-FRET methodologies" has been the investigation of the conformational plasticity of the outer vestibule of the prototypical potassium channel, KcsA using time-resolved polarized homo-FRET (Förster Resonance Energy Transfer) measurements. This project address the need to gain further insight about the functioning of these membrane proteins that play essential roles in many physiological activities, as their alteration lead to a wide range of pathologies generically called “channelopathies”.
I consider myself a highly motivated person who is continuously active in terms of education. Furthermore, I am already co-author in seven publications in indexed journals that you may find in my CV.
