My research focuses on the development of non-invasive imaging-based assistance systems for surgical applications, for example intraoperative ultrasound imaging, infrared thermography, and hyperspectral imaging. Beside clinical evaluation and improvement of imaging devices for the operating theater, I develops innovative and specific methods for supporting surgeons in the interpretation and analysis of image data, evaluating this information in close cooperation with clinical partners.
