Bio
Christopher Magomba is a lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness at the Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) in Tanzania. His area of interest is on agricultural land and relationship among crops value chain, rural urban livelihoods, poverty and gender inequality. He has worked with different research projects and assignments in the areas of water use and gender, women and youths’ livelihoods, land access and women’s collective actions both locally and internationally. Other related key interests include interconnections among soil fertility, fertilizer quality beliefs, and local and regional food security.
Magomba's ongoing projects include analyzing the pathways to agricultural commercialization in Tanzania; research on agricultural inputs suppliers and mineral fertilizer quality in Eastern Tanzania; and assessing the use of Information Communication Technology (ICT) extension to farmer-centered agroecological approaches for conveying complex and context-specific information and facilitating deep cognitive engagement with new ideas in Tanzania.
Magomba is a DANIDA fellowship scholar with a Ph.D. in agricultural economics from Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) in Tanzania.
