Christopher L. Shope

Dr. Shope currently studies hydrogeologic impacts on groundwater from mining, agricultural, and CAFO processes. His work includes studying salinity loading, using environmental tracers, modeling rainfall-runoff, assessing uncertainty in recession and baseflow characteristics, and groundwater modeling. He was with the National Water-Quality Assessment (NAWQA) program, using a multi-model approach to simulate groundwater flow/transport to characterize lag times with age dating distributions. Dr. Shope was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow with TERRECO at the Univ. of Bayreuth in Germany focusing on interdisciplinary watershed modeling in South Korea.
