The international and comparative dimensions of work and employment relations are the main focus of Chris's research. His primary expertise is analysing the sources of difference and similarity in employment institutions and how businesses and workers manage challenges associated with the internationalisation of labour markets and production systems. Chris has published widely across these subjects including on skilled/labour immigration, comparative employment relations and supply chain sustainability. This research has covered a diversity of national, industry and organisational contexts and has employed various qualitative and quantitative methods including case studies, elite interviews, focus groups, surveys, statistical analysis and policy analysis.
