Regulatory T cells (Tregs), characterized by expressing CD4+ CD25+ and Foxp3, are an immune population that suppresses auto-reactive T cells and maintains host immune tolerance. The transcription factor, Foxp3, plays critically in Treg development, cell lineage stability, and suppressor function. My research interests largely focus on understanding the regulation of Foxp3 and how Treg can be manipulated in order to improve autoimmune diseases or enhance tumor immunity.
