Bio
Catherine Flick received the B.Sc. degree in computer science and history and philosophy of science from Sydney University, Australia, and the Ph.D. degree on Informed Consent in ICT from the Centre Fir Applied Philosophy and Public Ethics, Charles Stuart University, Australia.
She is a Reader with the Centre for Computing and Social Responsibility, De Montfort University and a Visiting Fellow with Staffordshire University. Her work spans eight major EU and U.K. Projects concerned with developing and implementing responsible research and innovation frameworks in different ICT domains, and major public outreach work on responsible innovation in video games. Her work focuses on responsible research and innovation in ICT, AI, and video games, and more recently blockchain technologies.
Dr. Flick is a member of IFIP Working Group 9.2 (Computing and Social Accountability), SIG 9.2.2 (Ethical Framework for Computing), and ACM, and the Officer of the ACM Committee on Professional Ethics (COPE). As COPE Executive Committee Member, she co-ordinated and coauthored the new ACM Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct in 2018.
