Cathal Cassidy

Cathal Cassidy was born in Sligo, Ireland, in 1977. He received the B.Sc. degree in physics, the M.Sc. degree in computing, and the Ph.D. degree in physics from Queen's University of Belfast, Belfast, U.K., in 1999, 2000, and 2004, respectively. He was previously with Intel Corporation as a Transmission Electron Microscopy Engineer, principally in support of 65-nm logic development, technology transfer, and production ramp-up, with focus on strained Si(Ge) and nickel salicide process technologies. He was also with austriamicrosystems AG, Unterpremstaetten, Austria, working on reliability and failure analysis of 3-D integrated technology, primarily with respect to wafer bonding and through-silicon vias. He is currently with the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University, Okinawa, Japan.
