Bio
Carolyne is a faculty member at Bristol Myers' Squibb Foundation Monitoring and Evaluation Technical Assistance Program (TAP). Prior, she was the Head of the Monitoring and Evaluation Division at the International Cancer Institute. She has worked with Hematology and Oncology programs for the past six years. For this period, she has supported programs to ensure proper planning, execution of activities, and attainment of targets through monitoring progress and sharing feedback. To note, she has supported program teams to set up, monitor, evaluate, and report for donor programs funded by ROCHE, Takeda, Bristol Myers Squibb Foundation, Pfizer, and Eli – Lilly among others. Her professional interest is in the development, adoption, and validation of frameworks and tools to strengthen health service delivery in primary care settings.
Carolyne has over 10+ years of experience, beginning as an intern with a Canadian-funded Nutrition grant in a rural community in Kenya. She steadily rose within the same organization serving as a project officer for several sponsorship-funded and US-funded grants for several years in different locations. She then moved to AMPATH and first worked as a Study Coordinator for a prospective study in the Maternal and Newborn Health Registry for 6 years before moving to the Hematology and Oncology Division as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer and subsequently in the same role at the International Cancer Institute. She has also managed programs in HIV and AIDS prevention, Malaria prevention, and Nutrition in various counties within Kenya. She has been greatly involved in program planning, monitoring, and evaluation throughout her career.
In addition to her mainstream employment, Carolyne serves as a board member in one Non – Governmental Organization; the Alliance for Maternal and Child Health (ALMACH), and is also the director of GRESLAC Consulting Limited, currently offering consultancy services as the Lead Kenya Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant for New Dimensions Consulting (NEDICO, Zimbabwe).
Qualification
Carolyne holds a Master of Science degree in Healthcare Management from UNICAF Zambia and a Bachelor of Science graduate in Environmental Health from Moi University, Kenya. She is also a certified Monitoring and Evaluation specialist from the Kenya Institute of Management.
She is a certified Trainer and facilitator in Behavior Change Communication (BCC), Life Skills, and Channels of Hope for HIV Prevention and Care.
