Dr Carol Tan currently teaches courses in the Master of Special Education, Postgraduate Diploma in Education and in-service course for Teachers Trained in Special Needs. She also supervises practicum for Special Needs Officers/Allied Educators. Dr Tan's research interests include child and adolescent psychopathology, particularly in relation to developmental trajectories to anti-social behavior, affective and interpersonal traits, and the mediating effects of self-regulation. Over the past three years, she has initiated new research to examine why young persons with few or no friends become involved in anti-social behavior. While Dr Tan's research is very much quantitative-based, she does have some experience in qualitative research methods.
