个人简介
I have been working in clinical research for nearly twenty years, starting with the coordination of a pilot that was later rolled out across the NHS as the Choose & Book system.
Since then I have been witness to the changing UK clinical research landscape, and have built up a wealth of knowledge and experience.
I have managed and monitored a range of studies and trials - both IMP and non-IMP - at institutions including University College London, Imperial College London, and NHS hospitals such as Great Ormond Street.
I have managed administrative staff at various pay bands and trained a range of medical staff.
I have also worked with the MHRA in conducting inspections and have used my degree to great advantage in regulatory areas.
With a degree in Law I am keen on ensuring research quality and compliance. My research interests are psychiatry and I am also interested in working on trials involving women's health and G6PD deficiency.
Studies I have worked on (in addition to those referenced below) include:
- Whitehall II Study (UCL):To understand the causes of age-related heterogeneity in health. In addition to providing insights into individual and social differences in the development of frailty, disability, dependence, and dementia, the study will enable the determination of optimal time windows and targets for interventions that maximize the potential for healthy-ageing and independent living.
- CanTalk Study (UCL): The clinical and cost effectiveness of CBT plus treatment as usual for the treatment of depression in advanced cancer.
- ET (UCL): Randomized Prospective Biomarker Trial of ERCC1 for Comparing Platinum and Nonplatinum Therapy in Advanced Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer: ERCC1 Trial (ET).
At present I am working on the PROTECT study (which looks at how healthy brains age and why some people develop dementia) at King's College London and am an (administrative) associate at the University of Exeter.
