I am an Assistant Professor of Immunology at the University of Turku, Finland, with a Ph.D. in Immunology and Microbiology. In my Ph.D. I discovered novel antitumor peptides that enhance the immunogenic functions of dendritic cells against cancer. My research has led to the development of rational combinations for anti-CTLA4 and anti-PD1 blockade immunotherapies. Applying reverse translational approach, I use state-of-the-art approaches to discover new prognostication biomarkers for cancer immunotherapies, and new targets for therapeutic innovation. My ongoing projects are supported by local competitive funding and international partnerships with prestigious institutions like Helsinki University, the University of Liverpool, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Columbia University, and Stanford University. I am committed to continuous learning and growth for impactful research and enthusiastic about employing reverse translational research with my combined skills in pre-clinical research, pathology, and multi-omics. I am eager to collaborate with pioneering researchers in immune checkpoint therapies to significantly impact patient care.
