I currently investigate early diagenetic processes, e.g. micritization, in extreme environments. I combine experimental diagenesis using microbiological and geochemical analysis. In my Ph.D., I investigated the link between local environmental conditions and microbial-induced dolomite formation in two hypersaline lagoons in Brazil. I used molecular biomarkers and stable isotopic composition of specific organic compounds in the lagoon’s surface water and sediments.
