Bio
Dr. Chenyu Wang holds various academic positions, including the role of senior researcher at the Brain and Mind Centre of the University of Sydney, where he is also a Multiple Sclerosis Research Australia Fellow and the inaugural Nerve Research Foundation Fellow. With his extensive background in electronics engineering and neuroscience/neuroimaging, he is responsible for spearheading clinical neuroimaging advancements in his capacity as Deputy Director of the Computational Neuroscience Team at the Brain and Mind Centre. He also oversees all operations of the Sydney Neuroimaging Analysis Centre in his capacity as Chief Operating Officer, managing all aspects of clinical trial services, AI and informatics products, and R&D.
Through his positions, Tim has successfully implemented over $7 million worth of industry-research grants funded by the government in the field of AI-medical imaging. In recognition of his contributions to the clinical applications of neuroscience and neuroimaging engineering, he was honored with the prestigious Peter Bancroft Award at the University of Sydney School of Medicine in 2018. His work has resulted in tangible efficiency improvements for medical practitioners, enhanced diagnostic and disease monitoring capabilities for patients, and novel insights into the pathophysiology of brain diseases for researchers. As a co-founder of SNAC, Tim has demonstrated exemplary leadership skills, successfully leading a team comprising of over 30 scientists, engineers, developers, and clinicians across various departments including research, product development, and clinical trial services.
