I am a physiological ecologist -- I study how animals work within the context of their environment. My current research explores stress in marine mammals -- assessing how animals respond to and recover from stress, evaluating downstream, functional consequences (e.g. altered metabolism) and exploring biomarkers that may be useful indicators of detecting the presence of stress in animal populations.
