B. P. Ó. Gallachóir received the B.Sc. degree in applied sciences and the Ph.D. degree in ocean wave energy. He is a Lecturer in Energy Engineering in University College Cork (UCC), Cork, Ireland, and Principal Investigator in Energy Policy and Modelling in UCC's Environmental Research Institute. His research informs energy and climate policy through bottom-up modeling of sectoral energy demand and efficiency and energy systems modeling with TIMES. He is Chair of the IEA's Executive Committee on Energy Technology Systems Analysis Programme (ETSAP) and an elected member of the RIA Climate Change Committee.
