Research Focus
Brett Altschul is a theorist, working mostly on exotic theories of particle physics beyond the
standard model. Looking at existing experimental data, he has placed very precise bounds
on such exotic phenomena as photon charges, violations of the spin-statistics relation,
Lorentz symmetry violation, and CPT violation. He has also participated in the design of
next-generation experiments that will be useful in further refining these kinds of bounds, as
well as collaborating with some of the experimental condensed matter research groups at USC.
