Brent Mcdonald

Brent A. McDonald (Member, IEEE) received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, Milwaukee, WI, USA, in 1996, and the M.S.E.E. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder, CO, USA, in 2007. From 1996 to 2000, he was involved in the research and development in the power conversion group with Rockwell Collins, Cedar Rapids, IA. He was involved in the design and research of new power conversion techniques for avionics applications. From 2000 to 2008, he was a Power Conversion Technologist with Dell, Inc., Austin, TX, where he was involved in the design of dc–dc converters for desktops, notebooks, and servers. In addition, he provided five-year roadmaps, predicting power conversion trends for the computer industry. He is currently a System Architect defining next-generation power controllers and drivers with Texas Instruments Incorporated, Dallas, TX. He has been issued 12 patents and has several more pending.
