Phototropic organisms such as plants or algae have during evolution come in terms with these changes and have evolved several regulatory components to optimize growth and photosynthesis.
My research is to study these regulatory mechanisms to discover novel components to bring a larger puzzle together. The goal is to fully understand how plant regulate their machinery by detecting light. With this, I hope we can grow crops to better withstand different kinds of abiotic but also biotic stresses.
